Today, November 20, is the International Transgender Day of Remembrance. Today, November 20, is a time to remember those humans who have been murdered, some before they could even walk, because they "differed" from societal gender norms. Because they broke stereotypes. Because they tried to be themselves.
I have made this image so that, hopefully, someone may use it to remember this day, or to tell a friend about it. To come out, or to spread the message of tolerance. To promote education, or to reach out to someone in need.
Today is important, but it can't end here.
If we all come together, maybe we can make a better world for people who are transgender, genderqueer or any form of gender deviant. At the very least, maybe we can save a life. The life of a sibling.
Of a parent.
Of a child.
Of a relative.
Of a friend.
Of a lover.

"You know, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender - people are people."
powerful words. words people need to know and remember. especially for homophobes like my family, they need to learn the last quote you have in your description.
I've been thinking about coming out to me mom for the past few months about being trans with me my mom's never noticed because of the fact that i don like bows and some other girly things but when i was younger my only friends where guys and i was a tomboy and before i was born my mom and the doctors though i was going to be a boy. and i really do want to come out but i just don't know how to and plus i'm kind of scared to do it.
